LDS Scriptures on Nokia N800
After a lot of searching I finally found out the most convenient way to get the LDS Scriptures onto my Nokia N800.
The first option I found was the Thummin Reader. The creator was frustrated with the lack of software that does exactly this, so he created his own. The only problem is that you have to download his software to a PC so you can get the actual documents. He only supplies the reader. This bothered me because on my old Palm m505 (that my Nokia replaced) there was great software and all the documents were supplied. Also, it sounds like the whole process is pretty iffy and might not even work at all.
I was lead to another option which was to use FBReader with the Plucker formatted documents available at Memoware.com. This option was mentioned on the Internet Tablet Talk Forum, but the suggestion was offered as a painful one because of the supposed long loading time for the files in FBReader.
What I found was that there are two options for the document format on memoware.com. You can get the full LDS Scriptures file which is 8mb or you can download the zip file that gives you each of the 8 individual files separately. The problem with the full file is that FBReader seems to decompress the entire file upon loading which takes forever.
If you get the zip file with all the parts separate you just have to wait for it to load a single book instead of all 8mb. This means that your longest wait will be when opening the Old Testament. And it only takes about 5-10 seconds which is not bad at all.
