X was crashing using the open source ati drivers that come with Sabayon. The following command fixed it.
eselect mesa set r300 classic
Wine 32bit instead of 64bit
Password: <-- Enter the root user's password here.
# emerge --sync
# layman -S
# USE="-win64 win32 -pulseaudio" emerge -1v wine
# equo rescue spmsync
1st & 2nd lines: Log-in as the root user (analogous to the Administrator in Windows).
3rd line: Synchronise the ebuilds (build scripts) on your PC with the latest ebuilds in the main Portage repository.
4th line: Synchronise the ebuilds (build scripts) on your PC with the latest ebuilds in the Sabayon overlay repository.
5th line: Build the 32-bit version of WINE.
6th line: Tell Entropy what you did via Portage.
To stop Entropy overwriting a package you built using Portage, edit the file /etc/entropy/client.conf and enable the ignore-spm-downgrades flag
